About
Local Government Mutual Services (LGMS) in Queensland incorporates the self-insurance schemes of LGM Liability, LGM Assets and LGW Workcare. The schemes provide a successful vehicle for mutual ownership and control by Local Government of their liability, property and workers compensation exposures, and have ensured cost stability that would not otherwise be achieved. In addition to the broad cover available, each scheme also provides a wide range of risk management resources and assistance to Members. JLT Public Sector as part of Marsh McLennan the appointed manager of the schemes and is the premier provider of insurance services to Local Government in Australia, including insurance broking and advice, claims management services and risk consulting.
LGMLS Schemes
JLT Public Sector, as the appointed managers to the schemes, provide a comprehensive range of services and resources as part of membership, including claims management, risk management, insurance placement, and associated fund management and consulting services.
- LGM Liability: Providing effective and appropriate coverage for the legal liability of Members with the long-term goal of achieving cost stability and minimising the impacts of volatility experienced in the general insurance and financial sectors.
- LGM Assets: Since 2015, LGMS Assets have provided the vehicle by which Queensland Local Government has been able to collectively exercise control over the management of its asset-based risk exposures.
- LGW Workcare: Provides workers' compensation cover to Local Government entities in Queensland and is committed to providing best practice claims and injury management solutions to assist Scheme Members to meet their statutory obligations and contain the cost associated with workplace injury. Our team of experienced claims consultants, injury management specialists and qualified WH&S advisors deliver optimum workers' compensation and WH&S services to members.
